Why Spreadsheets and Shared Inboxes Break Down at Scale
Most businesses that connect more than one type of user did not set out to build a platform. They started with a spreadsheet, a shared inbox, and a diary. A provider blocks out their availability. A customer, member or resident books in some other way, usually a phone call, a form or a message thread. An admin sits in the middle, manually keeping all of it in sync.
It works, for a while. Then the business grows past the point where one person can hold the whole picture in their head, and the cracks start to show. Double bookings. Missed updates. A customer chasing a reply that got lost between three different tools.
